Christmas Match And Party

Sue and I would like to thank everyone for coming to our first Feldon Flyers match night and party. We really appreciated all the help from the boys setting up, the ladies in the kitchen and Keith who really put a sparkle to the evening playing the keyboard. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening!

The raffle raised a terrific £85 for club funds, some of which will go towards renovating our very sorry looking agility trailer.  Sue and I are now looking forward to a summer match  and BBQ with the marquee in the paddock at Sutton, dates to be arranged.

Over the past few weeks we have had new puppies joining the ring craft class and the class is now full. However we will be taking names on a waiting list.

Well it just leaves me to say have a wonderful Christmas and Look forward to seeing  you on Jan 2nd

The Story Of Blue!

Cheryl and David came to me very worried about their lovely bedlington who was having real behaviour problems he was very nervous, frightened and had issues with other dogs. The more he miss behaved the more nervous Cheryl become on meeting other dogs she had little control!!  I introduced Cheryl to clicker training and “Blue” joined our ring craft classes for socialisation. Poor “Blue” has had bad experiences at another club in puppy  classes, rather than trying to over come  the problem he was sent into  the corner when he miss -behaved. Cheryl eventually got a private trainer  whose strict approach in handling the dog just made him worse!! ”’Blue” came to us extremely nervous and his reactions was to bark wildly at any dog that came to close. Very slowly with a lot of encouragement and learning basic commands he has really improved, he is now integrating well with other dogs in the class and out on walks. This week he has reached another milestone and started agility lessons. “Blue” still has to learn he can have fun, The most import lessons now are gaining his confidence, it is going to take time but he is  a much happier boy. “Blue” will be joining our more advanced obedience class next month.

Our Brailes Show Display

We had a fun afternoon at the Brailes Show today. The dogs behaved really in our obedience display considering all the distrations. We also ran an agility competition with the club dogs and Asher the poodle proudly wore his first place rosette on the way home, his was the only clear round! It was lovely weather and a glass of Pimms, or tea and home made cakes at half time made this the perfect summer show.

Feldon Flyers Dog Cub Display

Last night the “Feldon Flyers” gave a display to the ladies of the WI  an obedience, canine freestyle and agility display. Diesel was certainly on form and in the photo delighted the audience with her basket routine. This was the club’s first display this year and we are now looking forward to the 10th of August when we are booked for the main arena at the Brailes show   2013-07-02 19.49.03
